After having ours replaced 3 times under warranty I finally just took it off. No problem....

It's kind of T shaped and it slides into the groove at the base of the door, and it's useless. Works wonderful without it.

Ours has been replaced 3 times under warranty too and so far the 4th one hanging in there. I doubt it will last.

Like I've said before....take it off and you'll be surprised that you don't need it at all. I've proven that to myself. I threw the last defective one away and no water gets on the floor.
