Shower faucet

This morning I took a shower and everything was fine, I ran out for a few minutes and came back to my wife complaining about the lack of pressure. We have the same amount of water pressure as we normally do in the kitchen and the bathroom faucets and the toilet. I removed the shower head and even removed the hose to clean it out, it almost seems there is a restriction in the faucet handles, has anyone else dealt with this?

Did you turn on the faucet with the hose removed?
Are both sides (hot & cold) equally restricted?

Did you remove or clean out the flow restrictor in the shower head?

It's possible that both cartridges have debris in them, but it's rare that both are plugged the same.

Yes I removed the head, even took the hose off and reversed it to see if it was blocked. With the hose off it still has low pressure and you get that whistle with the water flow that you get with a valve not open all the way.

When you look into the threaded outlet where the hose installs, do you see a little orifice looking device? If so that's the flow restrictor. Remove it and clean it out or just leave it out.

If you don't see the restrictor, pull the cartridges under the handles and check them for debris.

I saw it but did not try cleaning it out, I will try on Friday when I get back to the trailer. Thanks for the info and I will keep you posted

Tried cleaning out the orifice and it did not work any better so I took the orifice off and the pressure is back to where it was, thanks for the info.

Thanks for coming back and letting us know what it took to fix it.

I've removed all the flow restrictors in our faucets. I figure I can turn the knob down if I don't want as much flow.

I have a newbie question. Do all bath/showers have cartrages? If so where are they located? Thanks Jay

All the newer ones do. They've gotten away from the seats and washers.

The cartridges are located under the handles. You have to remove the handles and then remove the retaining nut.

I replaced my outside shower with this.

Your tiny-tiny hole in the plastic pipe is most likely blocked. On my factory tour last week, the rep said that was "very common"
