Signature Ultra 8335BSS quality control issues
We love the layout of our new Rockwood 8335, and have used it half a dozen times since purchasing. That being said, I’m not impressed with Rockwood’s quality control. First, I noticed a gap in the seam where the rear wall meets the bedroom floor, nearly 1/2 inch. Secondly the fresh water holding tank would not fill properly and was leaking into the underbelly, Third, the framing of the bathroom pantry was split and broken during assembly around the base of the unit. All issues are being corrected by our excellent dealer but these issues should have never existed. The wall was an issue of mounting the bedroom wardrobe too far to the rear of the coach during assembly which applied too much stress on the rear wall causing the wall not to attach along the bottom properly, this required a significant framing modification in the underbelly to fix. The fresh tank was an issue of the factory installing too long of a piece of breather hose which then kinked when assembled in the frame. The fix was to install a shorter tube and retighten all connectors. The bathroom pantry was an issue of an over zealous screw gun operator that drove the screws right through the cabinet framing during assembly which split wood framing. Had to rebuild the framing. These assembly plants need to SLOW DOWN and build only as fast as they can consistently build quality. What they pay out in warranty repairs to the dealers must be very high.
