Silverware drawers

Is there a way to adjust the drawers in our Windjammer 3008? The silverware draw won't stay latched and is always open when we get to where we're going.

Silverware drawers

How about those childproof locks they let the drawer come open enough to put your finger in to release the lock.

Here's one version. There are a number of varieties available. They work on both doors and drawers.

Cardinal Gates Cabinet & Drawer Latches, 4-Pack - Walmart.com

Which one are you calling the silverware drawer? The top drawer in the end of island? There must be some adjustment that can be made, ours stays closed.

Although this won't help you right now, one of the many fine details of my 2016 Windjammer 3029W are the self-closing drawers. You find this feature on high-end cabinetry and I was pleasantly surprised to discover them in my TT.

If you don't know what I mean, the drawers are held shut by some sort of mechanism at the end of the drawer track, but they pull out effortlessly when you want to open them. Then, when you close them, you push the drawer a few inches and then the self-closing mechanism takes over and pulls it the rest of the way shut. My drawers and cabinet doors have never opened while on the road.

I love this feature.

I just stick a yardstick through the two drawer handles before I leave. While it is possible for both of them to open simultaneously, it has never happened.

For now what I've been doing is wrap a bungee cord around the two handles

On our drawers there is a plastic piece with a screw in bottom of it on front of drawer, we adjusted this screw and our drawers are staying closed.

Redcloud1,
Please message me and let me know what you found if you find an adjustment. I have the same silverware drawer prob. but not as bad. One latch latches, the other one doesn't. Hasn't come out yet, but probably will someday.
Thanks,

An update on the silverware drawer, I did locate the two screws on the drawer, one is on the top on one side the other is on the bottom on the other side of the Rails. I adjusted both screws and now the drawer stays shut. Thank you very much for the advice on how to fix this.

Checked my silverware drawer out yesterday. Mine don't have the upper and lower screw adjustment, but is easily adjusted by physically moving the drawer slide part attached to the drawer and re-attaching the screws. My silverware drawer front was slightly warped from the factory. All the other drawers are OK, so that's why one side was not staying latched. Got it to latch on both sides now, so OK now. I can always swap drawers also later if this happens again. This drawer will be used about 20 times more often, so it needs to work good.

I just fixed one of these today...

The ends of all the drawer slides have a spring loaded plastic nubbin. This nubbin is *supposed* to ride over and inside of a crease in the metal outside drawer slide.

In my case the slides on the drawer did not go in far enough to engage this locking mechanism. The fix was to remove the drawer, take off the slides and move them back 1/8" on the drawer and remount using different holes in the slide track.

Now that drawer has the same click shut and open feel as the other drawers in the TT. I expect this to make a big difference in keeping that drawer closed rolling down the highway.
