slide out problem

Just purchased a 06 flagstaff 8528 30 foot with large slide, the slide works perfect out but when you try to close the motor just makes a racket and will not lift the slide, when I lift and push on the slide outside it will start, get over the hump and then work perfect in. tried to lubricate with slide out grease but seems no better. Help please, any suggestions Thanks Irv

Just guessing here...

Perhaps you have a issue with the first tooth on the slide drive rack. It may have been damaged if the drive motor clutch is not disengaging fast enough when the slide is fully out.
You're probably pushing the slide in a bit and helping the drive to engage on the next tooth.

Have a look under the slide when it's fully extended.
