Slide out Problem

I just got a 2008 Rockwood 8317SS. I have noticed that when traveling the wind bends the lower corner of the slide out. This is not very rigid. Anyone else having the same problem? Wonder how to stiffen it up. Also Can't find were to put the crank for manual operation of the slide.

My V-Lite does the same thing on the bedroom slide, just haven't had time yet to formulate a fix.

There should be an access hole in the skirting on the opposite side of the camper from the slide. Your slide crank handle goes through the hole and onto the nut.

At the 1st Annual Rally, dave1441 showed us where the front bottom trim on their slide out had vibrated enough on the trip from Long Island, NY to Calif. & back, that it had broken the outside trim. Knowing that we were going to put several thousand miles on our trailer in the next few years, I fabricated some reinforcements.

I have copied and posted the pictures of the mod form the other site.
It is the Rockwood, flagstaff, surveyor Rv Owners Forums site. This is not the only site that have members that talk about their rockwood trailers.

I did not make the mod. i just copied and pasted the info form another site. I might just add a brace frm the bottom of the slide out the the bottom of the trim.
