Smoke detector dies tragic death

I was outside of our 2604WS hooking up the water as my wife was extending the living room slide. A high-pitched squeal was followed by a crunch - then silence. The smoke detector had fallen from the ceiling during the trip and landed unnoticed on the slide top. When DW ran the slide out it crushed the detector. Fortunately the seal wasn't damaged.
Something else to look for before sliding out, y'all.

Life is a cruel teacher. She gives the test first; the lesson then follows.
