Solved-Problem removing filter canister on WaterPur CCI-10-CLW

Hello,
I am trying to replace the filter on the WaterPur filter in our Rockwood tt. The canister will not loosen up from the housing. I have all water off and opened the faucets. Is there a preasure release button or something I am missing?
Thanks for your help.

Do you have the wrench that is supposed to be supplied with the filter canister?

You are way ahead of the game already,if you found where they (F/R) hid the thing. Find & use the circular wrench for that cannister, Remember,(Lefty-Loosey)! Youroo!!

Think about which way to turn the wrench. If you are looking down on the canister, you need to turn the wrench clockwise instead of the normal counter-clockwise. The normal "lefty loosey, righty tighty" is still the rule, but only if you are looking at the filter canister from the bottom. If you are looking the canister from the top, then you have go backwards.

You CAN NOT remove the filter with ANY pressure on the system.

OPEN a low point drain or faucet and that canister should spin off BY HAND.
The wrench will only be needed if King Kong installed the filter.

I had that problem plus the mess I made taking it off. Laying on floor to worked on sucked not getting it back on right so it leaked and I had to do it again.
I them remove filter system at the rally last week. I go back to the outside inline filter.

When I take mine off, I always smear the sealing surfaces with Danco Waterproof grease (Shop Danco Waterproof Grease at Lowes.com). Makes it easy to remove the next time.

Thanks again everyone for your suggestions. Had to us a grip strap to loosen the canister since King Kong apparently tightened it and I didnt have the standard wrench. Found a replacement filter and plumbers grease at Lowes. Happy camper again.

GREAT, hope you greased the o ring and the canister surface and the mounting surface liberally. Sure makes next time a lot easier. The grease sure cuts down on the blue words.

How do you get the grease into the faucets? There does not appear to be a screw or nut on the handle that can be removed? Do the handle's pry off or what?

Pull the little tab out of the top of the handle and remove the screw holding the handle on. Unscrew the escutchin holding the center in and pull the center of the faucet out. Lub the entire assy and re-assemble the faucet. Use Danco silicone grease. Shop Danco Silicone Grease at Lowes.com

Hmm, mine isn't like that. Mine has no tab or screw. There is a small pin hole though. I'll try a paper clip in the hole to see if it releases that way. It would be too simple to make it like my home ones. Thanks.

Mine doesn't have a tab or a screw at the top either. It looks like the handle would need to be pried off but I don't want to do that without knowing for sure how it comes off.
