Stab Jacks

Take delivery on a new Windjammer 2809W on Tuesday & it comes with the electric stabilizer jacks & was wondering how well they work. Have never had these before, so I know very little about them. Any info would be appreciated.

Mine work fine .
Although I put bal stabilizers on them to eliminate movement.

I had them on my 2015 30 ft. Salem and had a lot of movement. My Ever-lite 27 ft. has them and it's solid as a rock. I'm not sure if it's the 3 feet or not but there is a huge difference.

I have them on my 2850 EVO,I would say they are ok, I like my TT as solid as can be. I just put one of those pyramid stabilizer jacks on each side by the suspension and that firms it up a lot. I did just use the stabs the first couple times and it was ok, the biggest movement is when my son runs around (he's 3) and when people are entering or exiting the TT.

I do put lynx levelers under my stabs so they dont have to travel as far and they seen even more stable that way, Ive got 5 under each foot.

Thanks for the info. Again, I don't know much about them. If you are on unlevel ground & 1 makes contact before the other, do they self adjust to compensate for this? Also, after they make contact, how much more do they lower & can you lower them a little more with the manual tool? I do know they are not meant to raise the RV, just stabilize it.
I'm just familiar with the scissor type jacks, so I guess I'm a bit ignorant about these. Anyway, I knew I could count the expertise of you good folks on this forum.

If one makes contact before the other no real pressure is exerted until both jacks have made contact. When I lower mine I stop when I hear the tone of the motor change. That would indicate that they are under load and should be down enough to stabilize the trailer. If not you could go a little farther but not much. I also use x-chocks and they pretty much stop any front to back motion. I also put blocks under the bottom step. This helps with movement when someone goes in and out. Good luck and have fun.

My VLite came with the electric stabs.

Points:

Noisy
Slow in lowering/raising
My Extend/Retract buttons are on the exterior wall so I put a case around them to keep the weather out.
Support of TT is just okay, the length of the TT is a contributing factor
I put a 4x6 block under the foot pad(keeps it off the ground and shortens the distance the stab has to lower)(see noisy)
X-chocks between the tires(lessens movement)
Scissor jacks mounted in front of front axle(lessen movement)
Stacker Jack under the steps(lesson movement)
Some people use JT Strongarms (to lessen movement)
I use ratchet straps between the rear stabs(lessen movement) mainly because I'm cheap and didn't want to spend the $ on JT Strongarms.

Thanks again for the info everyone. I think you have answered my questions & pretty much put my mind at ease. I also use x-chocks, only on smaller unit. Will see how it all works out on new one.
I will take your advise Stormrider151. No matter how well they work, I won't let them keep me from the enjoyment I have when RVing.

We're happy with ours but they are manual op only at this point. That's ok! You can crank them down/up by hand exponentially faster that than the motors will move them. The motors have been an issue. We've had two go south and gave up after the third failed. Weatherproofing the switches such as Timex has displayed was on the to-do list but no longer see the point when the motors keep failing.
