What you might consider is installing the (PI EMS-HW50C) unit in your (30A) RV. Lots of Members do this so when they (Move over/up)they can take the PI unit with them instead of selling at a (Loss/reduced Price)! The PI unit has a (Lifetime Warr) so use the unit for a Lifetime! The Price difference is Very small between the (30-50A) units and you could sell the (50A) to anyone but Not the (30A)! Just trying to inform of Opps! Youroo!!

I installed a Progressive Ind EMS and have found issues with faulty grounds, reversed polarity, excessively high and low voltages in the last year. Well worth the expense. I installed mine using male and female plugs so that I can simply unplug it when/if I sell my rig.

good chart to show you why you should chose an Progressive Industries EMS series over the rest https://www.rvupgradestore.com/Articles.asp?ID=279

Lol, it's like asking which is the best tire or truck. We have the portable surge guard and will admit I got it because it was the cheaper of the two at the time (on sale). I like the shape of the surge guard vs the PRogressive Industries model and some of the features it has. With that said I have heard that the surge guard customer service is horrible if you have issues vs the PI experience is great. The PI models are even field serviceable (you can actually repair it rather than chucking it in the trash).

Progressive Industries. The best. The one that others try to be.
Period.

I have the 50A even if I need only 30A; also, have the adapters for 30A. I know is an extra expense but you never know if is only one plug type available. Will be royal pain to go camping and 1 plug type is available and turns out is NOT the one you have....
