The new trailer has arrived

Just a quick question for you experienced people. Our 2011 8265WS has arrived at the dealer-ship and we will pick it up around the 24th give or take.

Anything that we should look for that might be missing or not in order? Maybe I worry to much..... We are heading out for a 3-4 week (British Columbia to Saskatchewan and back) trip right after we pick it up.

Our truck should be fine, 2008, 3500 Doge Quad Cab Laramie with 6.7 cummins. Hitch is a Hijacker 24-UAS-18 Auto-slide and I'm pretty sure we are ok here as well.

Our plans are to stay close to the dealership for the first night so if there is any problems they can be fixed the next day....

Any thoughts or suggestions, much appreciated.

Cheers, Anders

Congratulations on the new camper. I know you will love it.

Here is a Pre Delivery Checklist I found on the internet. It is a pdf file so you can download and print it. Not everything may apply but it is a great guide to go by.

Remember one thing. Take your time. The excitement of picking it up and getting on the road will be incredible. Be sure to get them to operate everything and don't be shy to ask questions. Congrats you're getting closer to the big day!!! Most importantly and be safe!

If possible, have the dealer put the water system under pressure and check for leaks. Also, after you've had it on the road the first time, also check again for any leaks. They may be very small and just a drip here or there and need nothing more than to tighten a fitting. But my experience is that if any of the connections were poorly done at the factory, leaks will show up fairly soon once the rig gets its first shakedown cruise.

Play w/ the stereo & try to get some non-local radio stations. Check this out:

When I did the walk thru w/ the dealer, the local radio station was on, but I never thought check any other stations for reception.

Cheers,
Other than that issue, I haven't noticed any other quality concerns w/ my TT.

Many dealers let you camp overnight on their lot. We did that at a Michigan pickup and found many items that needed further attention. Just make sure the service dept. is open the next day! Congrats and enjoy your new camper.

That's great advise and yes the service department is open the next day. We will camp about 25 miles away from the dealership the first night, so we can return easy enough. Thanks for that input.

Cheers,
