Therma Heat

Hello,
I have purchased my first TT (after tenting and then a popup) and have been reading the manuals that came with it. I pick it up ( 2012 Rockwood 2109S) on Sat (4/7) but had the dealer send me the manuals in advance. yeah, I'm an engineer, enough said!!

Anyhow, and I am sure I will find out the answer but included in the package is a Therma Heat manual for tank and pipe heaters. I have looked on the printout from the dealers website on this unit and this looks to be an unexpected option of heated holding tanks. So is this a standard type of option that comes with the Convenience Package A or is this something standard for colder climates such as Vermont that is just included as a normal option?

I think the camper fairy sprinkled "good luck dust" on your camper.
Wish you continued good luck and happy camping.

well, I will find out for sure on Sat when I pick the unit up. I have downloaded and printed a PDI checklist from this site to use.

wbdvt- when did you order your 2109S? I ordered a 2109S on 2/17 but haven't received a "born on" date yet. I hope you post some information on your unit. I will be interested in how you like it. I am from Minnesota so I also ordered the tank heaters.

Hi GG - I posted pics in a thread on picking up my TT. should be in Rockwood forum. Towed nicely with a Equalizer e2 hitch but definitely knew it was there as compared to a popup. First outing will be most likely in June.
Will spend quality time with it in the driveway getting familiar with all systems and I have some mods in mind.
We had looked around and knew some things we wanted from moving up from popup. They were:
1. Size...no more than 22 ft
2. Weight...towing with a Honda Ridgeline
3. Bed....didn't want to crawl over each other anymore
4. Wanted something that we could travel further and stay longer with. It is just the two of us now.
5. Wanted a manufacturer with a solid reputation
6. Wanted an outdoor shower as we kayak

wbdvt- I agree with you. I have been a backpacker most of my life so I like to keep things minimal. It is just my DW and I now so I did not feel we needed a bigger rig.
Some national parks do not let rigs longer than 21' in, ie Bryce Canyon or Glacier's Going To The Sun Road. I'm hoping no one objects to the extra 6" of the 2109S.
I almost bought a 1809S but DW and I are both in our mid-60s so I felt the walk around bed worked better for us.
I'm a little concerned for you and your towing. I looked on the internet and a Ridgeline is only rated for 5000 lbs for towing. The 2109S is 3600 lbs and carrying capacity of 1200 lbs. You, at a minimum, are already at 4800 lbs not including LP, water, your wife, etc.. That is why you have trouble going up the hills. I wonder if you have enough tow vehicle?
Still haven't received a "born on" for date for mine so still waiting. Hope you are enjoying yours.

GG
