Tires/Tire Changing 8285S

I have a 2008 8285WS with two AL-KO 3500lb torsion axles. If you roll one tire on to a stack of 3 2" x 8" boards (actually 4 1/2") The other tire will be about 1" off the ground. Makes changing easy. However if you have the "fancy" aluminum wheels you will need a fairly thin wall socket to get at the nuts. Standard impact socket won't even come close. Also note that the one wheel carrying the weight still has about an 1 1/4 clearance from the top of the wheel well.

Tires were Hercules - they were very straight on the balancer. Not a hint of out-of-round or tread wiggle. It took less then 1oz to balance each one. I chose these because I have them on my truck and they are one of the few that have a 205-75-15 in a D rating (previous were C rated). Plus they are reasonably priced - About $80 per tire. We will see how they do.

Sears is where I would go.

Thin Wall Socket Set | Sears.com | Thin Wall Outlet Set

On my trailer the lugs are 3/4, trailer wears 15 inch rims and tires.

A 17mm one fits.
