Toilet bubbling
Question:
My toilet is bubbling when I flush it. I thought that may have been the "burping" that I heard about when the black tank is full. I emptied the black tank but the bubbling/burping continues. I have my tank heaters on, does that cause bubbling/burping? If not, any guesses?

Sounds like a vent problem.

A poop pyramid might be forming. No I'm not trying to be funny. Try pouring a 5 gal bucket of water as fast as you can down the toilet to break it up.

New RV I see....how have you been handeling the Black tank when you were camping (i.e. were you hooking up to a sewer and leaving the black tank valve open all the time?)
Here is a permalink to some tips on Black tank maintenance and cleanout:

Thanks guys. I'll check the vent to make it is clear. I only dump the tanks when they get full. I've only had to dump them 2 times since I picked up the RV a few weeks ago. I'll give ya'll's suggestions a try. I just need to make sure I'm not sitting when I flush or I'll get a surprise.

Remember water is your best friend, if you do not have to ration water you are better off using more rather than less.

Thanks everyone. I found another thread with an identical problem. It was from cdnwillyg. I believe my problem originated when I used the black tank flush and pushed something up in the vent, blocking it. I'll see what can be done to clear it. Maybe a short drive with the tank half full and maybe with 10 pounds of ice in the tank before I pull out.
Thanks again everyone.

Have you tried running some water down the stack yet?

I was going to suggest the same thing especially if you have a straight adjustable nozzle and have someone turn the water on after you shove the hose & nozzle down the stack.

A trigger nozzle would be handy.
With luck a little water weight will be enough.

Don't know how you'd get a trigger nozzle down the stack.

No need.
Just point and blast, it would be what about 8-9 feet straight down.

I was figuring on shoving the straight nozzle down and actually into the tank and let it blast away at a possible mound.

It's working now. It was an old-fashioned clogged drain pipe. I noticed it when the tank was empty but the water in bowl would only go down real slow. I broke loose the connection of the sewer pipe where it goes into the ground and that should have given me positive ventilation in the tank,,,,when the water in the bowl wouldn't go down, I figured it was a clog at one of the bends. Probably from a bad ratio of paper to water. I didn't think I would need a plunger after moving into the RV, I was wrong, so I had to run to the store to get one. Got a fancy one, it cleared the clog. I'm back in business. Thanks again for ya'll's help
