Question Tow Mirrors

J/w what everyone is using.... We have factory tows mirrors on our Ram but the convex portion seems kinda small as it is only like 3 inches wide.
Anyone know of some good ad-ons?

I bought a pair of mirrors that slide over my factory mirros. You still get the use of the factory mirror but the slide on gives you a way better view of the back of trailer. They just slide on and lock with a plastic bolt. No tools needed. They are GREAT. bought them at Van and truck world in Canada. Around $100.00. You won't regret getting a pair

I wanted a set of Factory mirrors for my Dodge but ended up getting a set of CIPA add on mirrors for now until I find a set of factory tow mirrors for cheaper then $400

I got my CIPA Mirrors at Camping world for like around $65 for the set

I just went to CIPA's webiste (CIPA-USA - Your one-stop source for mirrors and aftermarket accessories) does not look like they make a set for a 2010 Dodge Ram as of yet

It does look like CIPA makes a complete replacement mirror for the 2010 though

West coast mirrors. best all around mirrors on the market . you can get them in heated, with or without indicator lites. You can buy the factory plug to cap those junk Dodge factory mirrors. And install the West coast mirrors. Look better larger surface, I personally like the crome with indicators.

The 3rd Gen Dodge factory mirrors are very nice actually - Hence why I want a set instead of the clip on style but not going to pay $400 for a set either - your's is a 4th Gen and not sure how well they are.

Did you try and swivel them up right to see how well they work? or did you not know the tow mirrors swivel up (Inside of mirror has to be pulled up so the mirror is longer up and down then in the rest position)
Hope that made sense

Yes, I tried pulling on them because I was wondering if they retracted etc...but they don't move. The convex portion is on the outside edge of the mirrors so thats not the problem.
I can see ok with them in the daytime, (I pretend I'm looking at a trailer behind me ;p), but I think nighttime driving would be a problem because the size is so small.
I'm going to check out Camping World soon and see what they got to offer.

This is going to sound crazy but I used the Tow-N-See mirrors when I had my Chevy van, about $25.00 for a pair. They suction cup onto your existing mirror and work great. I never had one fall off. I saw them at Walmart yesterday.
Camco Mfg Inc - Tow-N-See Towing Mirror - Flat - Mirrors - Camping World

I have a Dodge Ram now and it has factory mirrors that fold up for towing!

Actually, I find the stock trailer tow mirrors are quite excellent for my 2306. I've had some CIPA's on my old 2002 Avalnche, and I find that these mirrors with my '10 Laramie are decent. I think trailer size is a factor, meaning if it was a longer or wider trailer then maybe inwould consider a different mirror, however, with that said I find the mirrors are great.

Ok, so we must have the same mirrors.
My husband seems to think they will be adequate but I'm just wondering how they are with nightime driving.

You have a 2306 also?
And a 10 Laramie?
We will have the exact same setup....

LOL,
Well...it looks real pretty...but I'm kinda bummed at the payload limit, now that we added all the 'toys' on it.
If I knew then what I know now...I would have maybe gone for the 2500 which would have been about 7k more (for identical options), would have allowed us to up-grade trailers down the line......but would have maybe been too damn expensive!!!!
How bout you?
