Tracking the build of our new trailer

Just got word of the VIN for our new Sabre 33CKTS that is being built at the factory. Is there a way or a contact to track the build at this point?

I asked the same thing while my Rockwood was being built. I needed the VIN # ASAP for the loan at my Credit Union. I was told by the dealer that the VIN # is assigned when the trailer comes off the assembly line. I got the VIN about two weeks before the unit showed up at the dealer. Even the dealer couldn't get any info other than a completion date.

If you got the VIN...build is complete, now the wait game on transport service to deliver your rig to your dealer

Now I am really pumped! We were quoted 8 weeks and tomorrow makes 5. I figured it would be closer to 10 or 12 weeks. The dealer said they use their own drivers so maybe I won't have to wait for the FR contract drivers since they seem to be in short supply.

We ordered almost four weeks ago, and were quoted 8-10 weeks.
Email I just received from Rockwood says ours will likely be produced mid to late September and the VIN is assigned about 2 weeks before the unit comes off the line.

Unfortunately our dealer doesn't use their own transportation so we will have to wait for that as well. Doesn't look like we will get ours within 10 weeks unless transport happens faster than I'm expecting.

I was told the standard 6-8 weeks also when I ordered. We will see.

No idea how the pop up line is running or what the driver situation is for those. I know you can transport more than one pop up on a flat bed so not sure if that means more money or not.

The economy is really heating up and maybe the factories are just backed up in terms of production.

I do not expect to hear anything until my dealer gets it. They did not tell me that tracking the progress was an option.

At the end of the day, the unit will get here when it gets here. Unfortunately.

Good luck to you guys on your units. Hope they come in sooner than later for you.

Vin.

Is there one factory for all FR products and they change the line over to produce different brands.
Or are there separate factories for sister brands (Rockwood/Flagstaff) and they change the line's over when producing different models within that brand?

That is a great question. I am not sure about that.

I would be curious what others say.

Forest River has multiple factories. I know on the west coast some brands are built in Dallas, Or, and some come out of California. This list may provide a pretty good guess as to where some different brands are manufactured:
The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association: Manufacturers Directory

That isn't completely accurate, though, as our Surveyor came from the Dallas plant, but that address doesn't list Surveyor as a brand for that location. I also know people that got their Stealth from a California plant, but that isn't listed all anywhere.

FR has several plants in the northern indiana area. My mini lite was made in Millersburg indiana. The company I work for, we sell MRO supplies to several of their plants in Indiana.

From what I've gleaned from different sources, Flagstaff and Rockwood run side by side through the same plant, in Indiana.

Can't prove it, haven't been there. But, some of those at the Goshen rally posted about having taken a tour of the Rockwood plant.

Great info. I ordered 2 weeks ago. Was told 6-8 weeks and would receive vin in 4 or 5. Good thing my dealer is 15 miles from factory.

We were quoted 6 to 8 weeks and received our Roo 19 in 7 here in Florida.
If I'm not mistaken they get a backlog of the same model and build them in a day or two at most so the only way to track your build would be to find out which day they are running your model. Not sure how to do that.

That's pretty good, esp if they are not built close by

I am not even sure if the dealer is gonna provide me with the VIN. I doubt the sales department even talks to the people in the office.

I am about 4 weeks into my wait. Got about another 6 weeks until the camping season ends. The funny thing is I never asked about the cancellation policy back in July when I ordered it. I'll have to see how that works. Hate to take delivery to have it parked under a cover for 8 months. I would just as well order it in February and have it delivered in July.

These guys got you coming and going. Amazing the stuff we put up with for our love of camping. lol.

Vin.

Got the call today--trailer must be on its way. We pick up our new Sabre 33CKTS on Wednesday, 8/29. 7 weeks from the day we factory ordered it. We have our work cut out to get it loaded with all the gear coming over from the Windjammer as we head out Friday for the Labor Day weekend. I just hope it arrives as ordered! Pics to follow when it finally finds its way home.

Attended rally and our rig is built at factory 3 on Century Drive in Goshen. Sierra's and Sandpipers are built in this factory-fifth wheel, tow behind, and park models. We noticed while driving around Goshen that there are transport lots overflowing and companies begging to hire drivers, some offering 2k sign bonus. Hope you get your rig in time to enjoy it

Thanks Volvodriver. We ordered through Camping World and were told that they have their own drivers. I assume they have it dispatched since we have the PDI appointment set.
