Trailer-Aid Plus (tire changing)
I've been carrying the Trailer-Aid Plus for a while now but never needed to use it. I ordered it through Walmart for about $40.00 and put it in the storage compartment and sort of forgot about it. Yesterday, I had some time to kill since the next campground was only 100 miles away so I figured I better give that thing a try to see if it works before I really needed it. I had read stories about it working on some trailers but not all (something about the type of suspension). I tried it and it worked like a charm. The other tire is about 1 1/2 inches off the ground. I think had I not have gotten the "Plus" model, the tire would have still been touching the ground when fully inflated. I am completely satisfied with this product and hope I never have to use it. It is a comfort to know that I can ramp up to change the tire instead of using a hydraulic jack. I have 2 road side service providers (yep, I said 2) that will come and change a tire but if they say it will be a couple of hours, then I'll change it myself. If they say 30 mins, then I'll ramp up and may wait or not. It's all about options and this is a comforting option to carry around. If the picture loads, the leveling blocks in front of the ramp was my insurance of not driving off the ramp since I travel solo.

I also have this and found it to be much easier to spin lube into the bearing rather than jacking the trailer.

I have the plus also but have found that have to put it on Lego blocks to get tire off of ground. Fortunately, was a trial and error session also. I have the separate leaf suspension at each wheel so each wheel has pretty good travel.

I keep a 1x6x24 handy for mine. The wider stance between the wheels makes leaves the lower wheel (lightly) on the ground.

I have one in all 3 of our trailers. I only had to use it on a friends trailer who was in front of me when his china bomb blew out sending shrapnal all over. We had just come back from the race track (had all the cordless torque guns ect) so we hit the rest stop and had that thing changed in about 3 minutes! LOL The truck driver was like WTH???? LOL

GAC2460---- My suspension is the Dexter Torflex (no leaf springs or shocks).
Hondaman ----- If I had not gotten he "plus" model, I would have had to use blocks under the ramp as well.
For the price of this thing, RV manufacturers should supply one with every RV.

Since they don't offer a jack or jacking points- yes they should!
Would kinda suck though if you have a single axle...

Torsion axles
This is good news, thanks. I too have a Rockwood with torsion axles and have been carrying around the Trailer-Aid Plus but haven't tried it. Did have a flat, but while camped and Coach Net was out and fixed it for me anyway. Thanks for checking as my axles look just like yours. Windjammer 3001W.

I have been going to make one that I heard about that is part circle one would put on your axile and drive forward and the axile goes up.

Will doing this damage the suspension on the axle you have raised with the block since all the weight of the side your changing is on the 1 axle?

I've got a Rockwood Ultra Light, 8315BSS with the Torsion Flax axle. Had a blowout and the Trailer Aid Plus worked great. If you're going to buy one, invest in the Plus.

I have torsion suspension and place a bottle jack on the frame and between the
tires-both tires lift at the same time.
The ramped tire when up brings the second tire up also

I changed out two of my China bombs for Goodyear Marathons recently and did the change myself on the first two. However, I planned a bit better and stopped at Discount Tire for them to change the other two. The kid came rolling out a floor jack and I stopped him from putting it under the Dexter torque tubes; he looked really confused as to why he couldn't just jack it up that way.  The Asst. Manager came out then to do the change and I pulled out my Trailer Aid, and rolled it up lifting the other wheel about 1-1/2". He was so impressed he said he was going to order one for the store. It is a bit hard to keep it from sliding on a concrete surface, but he put his foot on it till I got the tire started up the ramp and we were good. LOVE this thing and it is a great tool you hope you don't have to use. I also carry a generator and electric impact wrench...he, he, he!

It's nice the way the Torque type axles will come up together, I use a bottle jack placed under the frame, between the tires, works good.
I thought about the Trailer Aid, even more expensive in Canada $50+, but, the jack will lift 8 ton, so maybe other uses and takes almost no storage space.
