Tried removing spare tire but lug nut galled.

I was going to move my spare tire over more toward the center and the lug nut was galled. This is a new trailer and spare was mounted on the back when it arrived so FR must have done it. The lug nut started spinning in the bracket so had to use a cutoff wheel in a high speed to cut the bolt to get it off. I sure am glad I found this out today instead of on the Hwy when I would really need it. I am going to tack weld the new bolts on and use anti-seize so it will be available when its really needed.

Looks like it was mounted with big air wrench and either cross threaded or the thread were buggered up to start with.

Timely find, just like I discovered the two lug nuts on my spare are a different size than the ones on the ground!

Good Catch! I had something similar happen. Since Im not a welder I used a bolt to replace the carriage bolt the factory used. This way I can put a wrench on both ends. I also used some thread lube.

Same thing happened to me, luckily I had a socket to fit.

For being really unlucky (galled threads), you were extremely lucky (found it now instead of on the road). I'd be pissed off, but it's super awesome that you found it when you could actually fix it.

Good luck.
