Yes our Tundra is a beast!!!

If you search in here, I was asking this same question earlier this year so I did buy a set of Timbrens from Amazon.

I got them and went to install and discovered BOTH were defective! (Bad welds on them both...the bolt that held it together wouldn't line up...looked a 12-year did the welding job.) So I returned them and looking for other options but air bags seem too pricey for the ROI, IMHO.

We're going on a 4-day trip out west in a couple weeks...super-excited to go on the beautiful I-70 West route through breath-taking Rocky Mountain country (and many tunnels)

Clearance

Nice rig, what is your clearance between top of bed and underside of nose? I have lowered my 5th wheel to try and level out my trailer so there isn't so much weight on the rear axle and tires. Looks as if you have about 5-6 inches of clearance.

I believe the Firestone bags are about the same as my airlift bags. They recommend a minimum 5psi when not loaded and truck rides as usual. I use 45 psi on my tundra with my rockwood 8282ws. Good luck on your system and enjoy your rockwood.

Our youngest was born in San Antonio...I was stationed at two bases in Texas while in the Air Force (San Anton and San Angelo), for a total of 10 years, and we love Texas but are loving our four seasons in Colorado, now. We, still, have many friends we keep in touch with. (But I did switch from the Cowboys to the Broncos a few years ago..but I still enjoy watching the Boys play...want to visit that new stadium someday, I've been in the old stadium many times and enjoyed watching Emmitt and Aikman dominate!)

Roadmaster Lever system works great

My RV dealer suggested a Roadmaster lever system for my Nissan Titan with the Heavy Tow package and it works great with my 8280WS 5th wheel. I use the truck as a daily driver as well as as tow vehicle. The 8280 dropped the Titan down by less than 2" and it is steady as a rock even with semi trucks passing. I would highly recommend the system and there are NO adjustments on the system.

air bags on tundra

We just returned from a 5000 mile trip down to Florida and along the gulf coast to New Orleans and back home, I have the Firestone air bags and they really do make the trailer and truck ride better in my opinion.

I don't if I'm offsetting the effectiveness. By using both.
