TV backer Rockwood 2819VS

Does anyone know where the backer is on this unit? There is a sticker on the wall but I cannot locate it. This is in the rear bedroom.Click image for larger version

If you search the board there is a couple of other threads with a similar discussion. One says there is a plate in the wall behind the luan, another says there is wood behind it, and last another says there is a support directly under the sticker. I don't have a definitive answer, but am definitely following! What's size TV are thinking about mounting?

A drunk put my sticker on. Push on the wall in that area. I could feel the backer behind the wall. The sticker 6-8" off.

That is exactly where bracket is mounted in our 2819vs. We have the same bracket on both tv's in trailer.

This is an outside wall and is no different than any other outside wall. They are not hollow. They are pressed with a foam inside. It should just have a metal plate where the sticker is located. The main tv in the interior cabinet has a wood backer.

When I drill into it no foam come out from the bit. I tap on the wall and just hear a hollow sound. The back wall is separating from mirror edge also. Just noticed that......sad day.

Don't be sad, separation happens. That's what caulking is for. The trailer is not falling apart yet. The more you travel the more things will loosen. The best thing to do is break something major in the trailer yourself so you won't sweat the small stuff when they happen on their own. What year is your trailer? If you want to see how wall is constructed pop off the outside fridge access and you should be able to see foam and paper thin paneling. I'm not not sure how big or thick the metal backing is but our mount seems to be solid.

When I look at your photo it looks as if you drilled a hole to far down and may have missed backer?

The sticker was to the left of the backer. I don't have any pics of mine. It's a different trailer anyway. I can take some if you want.

Try to locate the studs or the reinforcement in the wall using a stud locator sold at Home Depot or Lowes. It can detect wood/metal, live wire etc.
