TV reception

Having real problems w/my tv reception. Have a 2012 8315BSS with a konka tv. Camp a lot w/friends and they allways get more stations than us. Have the upgraded antennae. The dealer wanted us to bring in the trailer to make sure it wasn't an antennae issue. Had the tv hooked up in the house to cable and had the same issues. Could it be an antennae? Or did this tv come w/a defective tuner?

Is this a new problem or did it never work from day 1?

I'm sure that you've probably already tried setting the input and programming (searching) for the 'over the air' channels. Does it play DVD's? The upgraded antenna is the Wingman?

Try with another tv, if the reception and channel search is the same, you'll know if it is the tv or the antenna. At least you'd know before driving to the dealer.

What brand of tv do your friends have? The reason I ask is not all tv receiver sections are created equal.

My friends have a Toshiba. I agree that all TV's are not equal. Yes I turned on the booster. Looking @ a 32" sony or Samsung. I don't watch a lot of tv but my wife does so I need to keep her happy. Would be sweet to watch the red wings in the playoffs again this fall tho.....Maybe dish is the answer. Thanks for all the replys.

You may have a bad connection in the coax. Even factory cables can be bad. You should have the cables checked out for continuity . For all others I highly recommend bypassing any splitters you have to unused connectors. The splitters really drag down the signal. If you use the bedroom connector you may need to use a one to two splitter and ditch the three way that feeds the outside connection. Buy good splitters, it makes a difference. Use the booster. You can try this if you DYI: http://www.amazon.com/Steren-Coax-Ca.../dp/B000GDDPRG
