Ultra Lite 2902WS Propane Quick Connect Nuisance

I'm loving our new 2018 Ultra Lite 2902WS. I'm not loving having to lay on the ground to connect my grill to the "quick" connect underneath the unit.

Has anyone come up with any unique mods for this?

A pic would be nice I'm going to assume the quick connect is attached to the propane line at the frame. Why not cut in a hole where the bottom of the wall is open under the floor and install a cable hatch and then extend the propane line with disconnect from the frame to the hatch. Just an idea without seeing the actual installation

Sorry I didn't take a pic. Posted the comment when I was away from my camper. I'm assuming most of the Ultra Lite's have a similar setup.

Yes you are correct - the quick connect is in the main propane line at the frame under the belly of the trailer. It's at least 1 foot in from the wall, and up at least 6 inches from the bottom of the side skirt. Reaching and manipulating the on/off toggle is ok as is, but attaching a quick connect is a two handed operation, and it's simply too awkward to do while kneeling on the side of the unit with my face crushed against the side of the camper (there's a visual for you!!!).

I'm thinking I'd find a foot long hose with quick connects at both ends, and figuring out a way to secure it so that it's not simply hanging while travelling, but more easily accessible from the side without having to lay on the ground.

What are folks thoughts on leaving a foot long quick connect "permanently" connected to the main line quick connect?

Easier to just lay a pc of carpet down so you can get down to it. Hooking more lines to it is just asking for leaks and troubles.

I don't know how handy or how much you trust yourself, but you could always get a coupling and pipe nipple and extend it from where it is tot he edge of the skirting.

This would eliminate your problem and you will only have to get on the ground that one last time.

If you are uncomfortable, find a friend who knows how, get him a 6 pack and he can do it, or you can hire a plumber.

I have a 2018 2902WS and I have never laid down to connect the grill. Have to squat at times. Maybe it's because I don't have to look at the connection, but connect it by feel.

Sounds like my best option. Thanks!
