Unhappy Under bed storage panel pulled out on 2109S

This is on a 2012 Mini Lite 2109S and is the right side panel on the under bed storage compartment. It looks like the panel was pressed on to metal pins on the aluminum frame and some adhesive applied.

My intended repair is to re-align the panel, apply some adhesive, pull/push/hammer it back on to the pins and issue a stern warning to DW not to over pack the storage area under the bed.

Has anyone seen this happen before? Any comments on repair method?

Thank you

Thanks for the heads up. I haven't had that issue yet on my 2013 but we don't put too much in there really. I'll keep an eye on it.

Why not just remove all the pins/nails/staples and install a piano hinge?

Well it doesn't need to be opened for anything. It would also need to latched then and it is a very thin piece of panel.

Does the mattress not sit on it? Our 5er has the lift up without a latch. I know it is thicker, but with the mattress on top, don't see a need for a latch and access into the compartment would be a lot easier than using a door on your knees. Just saying.

It's the end panel to the compartment not the hinged lid. The picture is deceiving.

That makes more sense, the picture should have been rotated 90° clockwise.

Same thing happened on our 21FB. Less than a year old. FR's funky pins are useless. I replaced them with some small metal screws. Due to the bed overhang the screws are not really noticeable. On something like an RV (vibration and movement) there is nothing better then a good old fashion screw.
