Unhitching Overnight or Not??

I don't understand why this question come up so many times? you don't unhitch when you stop for gas or eat so what's the problem when stopped overnight?

I pull the plug from the TV because years ago my other truck's batteries were drained when I left it plugged in overnight. I have a newer one but same make now and I do it out of habit. Not fun getting up early, get in the truck and no go. Had to shut it off at the US border side and was keeping fingers crossed that it would start again...it did.

No problem leaving hitched . Just make sure to pull the trailer plug out from tv. I had blown fuse on truck by leaving it in and hooking up shore power cable. Later RJD

We have left connected to the TV, unplugged the 7 pin and just put the stabilizers down to just touch the ground. We have had no problems!

When your pulling a winterized 5er in February looking for warm weather, it's nice to have a hot shower and some comforts. It took us three nights before we found warm enough weather to un-winterize.

Some vehicles don't have a relay to disconnect the vehicle power from the trailer power. If you stay in your rig overnight and run down the battery there's the risk of taking the vehicle battery with it. It would suck to wake up with dead batteries all around.

Take a meter and check from trailer plug to battery for continuity.. in trailer

See attached pic. The pic on the left is looking into your TV connection. Use your meter to read across the connection at the 1 o'clock position (+12VDC) to the 7 o'clock position (ground) with the TV off. If you have voltage, you're going to want to unplug the trailer from the TV.
