Most of the storage on the 2604ws is in front of the axle. (More tongue weight)
I pull the 2604ws with mine. Although my truck pulls this trailer just fine, I would be reluctant to pull anything with a heavier tongue weight.
It's not the pulling capacity (9200lb with the 3.92 rear end) that is the limiting factor, it's the load carrying capacity (1200lb ?)
I have same truck and trailer, except I have 3.55 gears. The truck pulls it fine, but like you said, the 2604 is a little tongue heavy. I'm a couple hundred over on payload, but do not exceed axles according to the scales.
Just want to add that my 2016 2604WS came with recliners. The VL was on my short list, and in fact, I preferred it on several levels.... the killer for me was the fact that you could not get to anything with the slides in. I tried, if i could have used it for quick overnights with the slides in, I would have likely gone that way.
Good luck with your decision!
