Vent cover crumbled

Last Sunday I discovered that one of my roof vent covers gave up and crumbled. So out with the old, in with new. New means upgrading so I put in two MaxxAir fans. Maybe a bit of overkill but they are automatic, which will help keep things cooler inside even when parked.

I had to run a new feed, I had thought to tap into existing lights feed. All the lights were on that feed, even with all LED's that would be to much load. What a PITA that was could have been much worse but still a PITA.

I finished install this morning very happy with results, it does keep it cooler. I did not get a pic of the fans with sealer on them but they are sealed. Along with other seams as part of yearly maintenance. Click image for larger version

Nice job - now, based on your "crumbling" experience - and one similar that I had - I would put the vent covers over those to protect them from the UV rays which cause the plastic material to deteriorate.
