I finally got tired of changing the water filter in the tight cramped space and removed the filter. I now use an outside water filter, purchased from wal-mart, and replace every few months of use. Eventually I by-passed the canister and completely removed it.

If you continue to use the inside water filter, use food grade silicone grease. As stated earlier this can be found at most hardware stores. Petroleum jelly (Vaseline) is not recommended.

I always have a tube of Magic Lube around for orings. You can get it online or pool supply stores.

I tossed the original POS filter assembly and installed one that uses common 10" filters. The filter housing comes off easily with one hand and was able to properly secure the entire assembly unlike how the original was mounted.

Be sure pressure is off the system. Water pump off, city water off and open faucet to relieve pressure. Things come apart allot easier.
