We bought the Mini Lite 2504S

Thanks to all who answered my many questions while we commiserated over which Mini Lite we thought would hit the most marks on our list. Even this morning when I posted a couple last minute questions, people responded in time for me to have that info in hand at the dealers.

We'll pick the unit up in a couple weeks when they get done working thru my punch list and maybe get a warmer day to do the final acceptance.

Thanks again, we really appreciate the responses and suggestions.

Greg

I believe the 04 has bunk beds and the 07 doesn’t. My guess is their family needed the bunks for children. I could be wrong though.

We needed a unit with a second sleeping area and I don’t want to make up a dinette each time. No kids...way too old for that, but my long suffering wife needs an escape bed when I snore and kick ;-) When it’s not needed it’s storage or grandkid space.

We loved the new 2511s but didn’t want to give up the bunk and dinette.

Congratulations! I hope you'll love it as much as we do ours! Our 5-year-old granddaughter LOVES that bottom bunk. It's her special spot - but it's still big enough I can get in with her to read bedtime stories!

Thanks, hopefully this weather will break as predicted and we'll get to pick up the new trailer Tuesday. We hope to camp a couple miles from the dealer to see if everything works before driving the four hours back home. It should be a test of how it handles chilly temps since even with the "warm" weather coming, we'll have one night down around 24 degrees.

I also bought a 2504s 2 years ago now. Have 2 small kids and we love ours, no issues and its been great.

One suggestion however, I bought mine in February. When I went to pick it up it had obviously been delivered in a snow storm as the underneath was covered with sand & salt. I chose to decline delivery on mine as I wasn't interested in a brand new one covered in sand & salt. Dealer wasn't thrilled but since we hadn't signed anything, selected another one on the lot that was clean. Possibly would've never been an issue but I wasn't comfortable buying that. I'm sure many would disagree but since I don't camp or tow during the winter mine would got its whole life with me owning it without salt exposure. Anyways, best of luck, you'll love it.

You guys must feel like kids on the night before Christmas! Congrats!

Slap a EMS in that coach pronto! Especially if you pass on the extended warranty for all the electronics. It's hands down the most important addition (second to the sewer hose!)

Post pics if you can. I assume this is the new design with the bedroom window?? I'd love to see what else was changed or improved. We absolutely love this layout for our family.

I heard they dont offer extended warranties any more. We'll find out as we have a 2507s on order picking up in early April.

I brought the 50-amp surge protector from the motorhome with me and just use a couple of adapters. The Progressive Ind box was about $350 so no sense in wasting it.

An extended warranty was offered from Good Sam since we bought it at a Camping World, but declined. I had it on the motorhome and it covered 30 minutes labor to replace a magneto, IOW about $120 parts and labor on a job that cost me $1100. They say it’s a 30 minute job and I might agree once the generator is on the bench, but it takes two techs, a fork lift, and a couple of hours to remove it from the coach. Never again will they see a penny from me on one of their maintenance programs. Scheming bunch of........

Aside from that, the PDI went like clockwork and the folks at McGeorge's did a stellar job of the delivery. The few items we noted were addressed without question.

We are staying a couple miles from there to shake it down and see what breaks. So far, so good except we're extremely disappointed in the Suburban hot water heater. We’ve always had Atwood 6 gal water heaters for the last 40 yrs and never run short of hot water. Kathy could shower and I could follow in a few mi utes and no problem. This one doesn’t get one of us thru a whole shower and it’s darned hot when we start. The recovery is terrible.

That is our one BIG disappointment so far.
