Well, Im lost as what to do...

So, we've had our new 8289 at home now for about 6 weeks, and due to health problems, have not been able to use it yet. Now we are, and have reservations at the local state park for our shakedown trip in about 3 weeks. Well, I went to sanitize the water system, per instructions in the manual, and have no water to the kitchen sink. Everything else has water- toilet, bathroom sink, and shower. I have checked the pump, hooked up to city water and checked it that way, checked all the fittings on the pipes, everything you can think of , I have checked. There is no water in the tubing going to the faucet. Just as if there was a valve turned off. But I can't find one. I also talked with the service tech where we bought the trailer, and everything they told me to check, I have. Taking it in to the dealer is kind of out of the question since they are 200 miles away. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

To be honest with you, I was pretty heavily sedated at the tim and don't really remember. I'll have to ask my wife when I get home.I do know there is no water in either line.

Are you sure there's no water in the lines? Have you disconneced them from the faucet? Sometimes the faucet aerator can get clogged with the smallest piece of debris and not let the slightest amount of water flow.

More then likely you have what nomad 297 said, That was my problem when it was new. If it is not there then you might have a kink in the line. They don't really do a great job and leave the lines to long making them easy to kink. There is no other valve that separates your sink from any other outlet. I have the same unit. I'm happy to here your feeling better, and pretty sure you will like that 8289WS great for two people. I really don't think they added any shut offs that would cost them money. Is the hot side the same? If it is I would still say you have garbage in the aerator, because of being two different lines completely. Have fun and stay HEALTHY.

I bought a new Rockwood from a distant dealer, also. I was able to find a FR dealer, not Rockwood dealer, to provide warranty work that was much closer to home.

Actually makes sense unless yor using a filter on the city line. The screens on water line hoses and fills arent as fine as the screens and ports on your aerator

Thanks for all the replies; I sincerely appreciate it. First thing I did was check the aerator screens. There are 2. They looked as clean and new as you would expect for a new faucet. I guess I'm going to have to take it to an RV service place. Thanks again.

Since there are 2 water lines going to the kitchen sink, hot & cold, I agree with the aerator idea.

Good luck

If it the mixer valve those can bugger up easier than the aerator. Get wild, take the pressure out of the system and unhook a line from the faucet, under the sink, get a rag and a bucket and flip the pump on SEE WHAT YOU GET.

its in the aerator.I do pdi's everyday( forest river tech) - take out the aerator ,turn on the water pump -run it without the aerator. then take the little plastic aerator and blow on it or use air to do it.

Okay! That's what I'm going to try again! Wish me luck; I sure hope it works. Again, thanks everybody, and I will let you know.

I think a lot of campgrounds still have a lot of steel water lines. I've had water filters full of rust and scalings from them so I use a water filter at hydrant and the one in the rv this seems to make the more expensive one in rv last longer.

I agree that is the most logical pace for the blockage. If removing them you still can't get water then you need to remove the water lines. Not having hot or cold leads me to believe the problem is with the faucet. If there is water with the lines disconnected it is a problem with the faucet.

Is this a faucet with a joy stick (one handle) or does it have hot and cold valves? If you have water in the lines and it is a joy stick look at the handle. It should have a set screw in the base of it, the round part of the handle. There should be a set screw in it that may have come loose or fell out. If it is there make sure it is tight. If it is loose or missing you can move the handle all day and get no water.

Jim

I had a very similar problem in my new 2015 Lacrosse. Drove me nuts until I read on this forum that all I had to do was take of the faucet on the kitchen tap then look at the strainer you'll see lots of little plastic pieces pretty much plastic shavings stuck in there. Plus I had to take apart the little plastic strainer. IE where the water comes out of the tap that's what needed to come off on mine.
