I used JR Products folding shelf brackets. I know I got them at Lowes but if you Google it you'll see them. The extension hangs straight down and rides without hitting anything.

We store ous on edge between the sofa and end wall of the slide out. Looking at your floor plan it looks like that could be an option for you.

Yet another vote for under the sofa. If I'm 1000 miles from home and suddenly need it at least it's there.

It has lived there most of its life. It comes out when we went to FL and camped for a few weeks straight. Always a need for counter space in a small camper.

Thanks everyone. I think I'll try the folding bracket suggestion on the end of the cabinet. I will have to make sure the slide clears it.

So I opted for a very simple solution to store the counter extension. I used two small hinges attached to the existing metal clips that are already attached to the extension and cabinet. Swings up and down with very little effort. Stays out of the way when down held with a Velcro strap so it does not move while traveling.
