Where to buy?

We have been getting prices from RV Wholesalers in Ohio. Are there any other places to consider?

There are plenty of places to consider, but if you are looking for price RVW hard to beat! Ask for Cindi Fowler great salesperson.

Getting the best price is one thing. Getting someone to service a unit not purchased from them is another. Just sayin'.

A lot of places advertise online "We will not be undersold". Find the exact model you want, then find every place that sells it, and get their price. That's how I arrived at the dealer I did, in Ohio. I steered clear of "contact us for pricing"........no time for that stuff. Now........when I did find it at the best price, that was the price.....no haggling.

Congrats! I had a small issue with my new unit and was taken care of at a dealer that I did not buy from. They could not or would not match the price.

Once you figure out which model you want. Do your research online you can get pricing from several different dealers. I checked in Ohio and surrounding states. I ended up getting mine in Cleveland at Ruff's RV. My local Forest river dealer couldn't touch the deal I got from Ruff's so it pays to do your research. Holman RV seemed to be very competitive as well in Cincinnati. Good Luck! 2016 Rockwood 8329ss Diamond Package

though these shows, wholesalers, etc. have great prices. It's getting the rig repaired in a timely matter. I know several guys that bought at shows and some "wholesalers", and it's taken them longer then the average bear to get their units in and get warranty work done on them. Where we bought our TT from said that if any rigs comes in that was bought else where goes to the bottom of the list for repairs, they take care of their customers first. Though I don't think that's right, but on the other hand I can understand it.

RV Wholesalers was the best price we found in June 2016. Had them add an Equal-I-zer hitch and a slide-out awning which were also quite competitively priced. Good experience so far.

We got our 2703WS from RV Wholesalers on April 15 and have been happy with them. We're near Pittsburgh, about 280 miles from RVW. The closest Rockwood dealer to us was almost 90 minutes from us.

We stayed at a campground three or four miles away for two days after picking it up. We had a minor issue the day after we picked it up and they sent a tech over to the campground within a couple of hours on a Saturday afternoon.

A couple of other small issues were resolved by emailing pictures and having the parts sent to my home and I changed them out. I don't mind doing the repairs because I know how they were done, and I've been repairing things all my life. It's what I do, even in retirement. They told us they had local dealers that could do warranty work but so far we haven't needed them. Tabby at RVW worked with us on getting replacements and has been excellent to deal with.

We saved $2000 using their financing and shuffling money around afterward. Probably actually saved about $1800 or $1900 by doing that and their price was the best we got.

That is exactly what we did. Local dealer gave me the SAME price as i got off RVW, with all the options we wanted too. It was at a manufacturer show, so that helped too.

My local dealer lost a chance to sell 2 campers to me and my friend back in 2012. We gave them an at bat, but they wouldn't budge of their 'best price' which was significantly higher than the RVW quote.

The sales manager actually remembered me when we went back this time, and he was truly grateful that we gave them a chance to earn our business again. I made sure he understood that if he could not meet or beat the lowest quote I had (from RVW) then we had nothing to talk about. He joked and said "I remember having this conversation with you a couple years ago"

In the end, he actually beat (by just a little bit) the RVW price on my new 8239. I truly like RVW. We had a great experience dealing with them and would not hesitate to buy from them again, but I also like keeping my money local, and supporting local business.

The moral of this story is, its your money. Shop around. Don't be afraid to tell a dealer "I have a quote from X. Can you beat it?" You owe no particular dealer anything. They are out to make the best deal for them. You are out to make the best deal for you. If you can't make a deal, walk away and find someone else.

The other moral is, dealers remember, and they can learn. lol
