Windjammer 3029W

We are thinking we want to trade our Windjammer 3008W for the Windjammer 3029W. Would anyone with the 3029W please let us know how you like it? We really like our 3008W, but think the opposing living slides would be nice. Also, how does the couch make into a bed?

The 3029W is a nice unit but if you like using your kitchen when travelling at lunch time, you will have to open the slides as now you don't have to with your 3008W? Something to think about.

We bought the 3029 last month and have spent 4 weeks camping in it. The opposing sides are far superior in spaciousness to just one slide in living area. The sofa bed flips open to full queen air mattress. We used that also, and loved the extra space around it when fully out. (Due to opposing slides). The closet space in the nose as well as the dresser and cupboards above dresser yields super storage space. We love ours.

Love our 3029 vnose.. The space is great and love having the large closet.. We went from a 2013 2702ss to the 2014 3029 and we love it so much better.. The only thing we DONT like is the air mattress.. We and others have had issues with the mattress breaking.. I heard from one of the sales people that Forest river might be changing to a mattress .. Which will be so much better.. If you can get a mattress I suggest opting for that..
Other then the mattress issues we love our camper.. Easy to pull and very comfortable.. Lots of room.. I do suggest getting some stabilizer bars as with this camper being so long you will shake when people are walking around inside.. We bought 2 and it makes it more stable .. Highly recommend this camper.. Good luck..

Thanks. So far we are keeping our 2013 3008W Windjammer. They don't want to give us enough for our 2013 in trade. W e like our 3008 and we can utilize it with the slides in while on the road.

We had the same problem.. My hubby wanted to upgrade from our 2013 Rockwood 2702ss.. We had is less then a year.. I completely understand.. Where do you live? If your in a Michigan I can tell you where to take it to get a better trade in.. We had all different trade in values.. Where we went gave us 6 grand more then the lowest amount.. We still lost about 5 grand but thought it was worth getting the camper we really wanted.. As I tell my hubby.. Quit looking at the internet.. Lol.. Ahh I'm glad we upgraded.. Love this one SO much better..

My in-laws bought this model a few months ago and we recently camped with them for a week.

It is a really nice trailer. The one big problem that I could see is a serious lack of outside storage.

We just bought a new 2015 Windjammer 3029W and love it. Just got back from a 2 week venture with it. I was cleaning up the outside and noticed a crack in the sidewall above the bedroom slide-out.

Hello

I joined the forum to find out about the crack you have/had in your 3029W.
I'm thinking about purchasing a 3029W myself.
May I ask how it happened and if you got it repaired?
Any more problems with your 3029W?
Hope to hear back from you on this.

George

For us the 3029W was a big step up. Our previous TT was a Jayco X213. That was a sweet little trailer, but just too cramped for us.

Really like the large living area, provided by the opposing slides in the Windjammer. Also like the viewing angle of the TV the seating arrangement provides. And great windows for those killer views.

Our fold out couch does not have an inflatable mattress. Supposed to be memory foam. Even so, has a few uneven spots that lets you know, it's a couch. We have a memory foam topper for it, when needed.

Was reading a thread yesterday about adding a 2nd air conditioner to a Windjammer. Apparently these trailers are a bit large for just the one ( especially in the warmer climates ). I would have to concur. And even if you didn't "need" the 2nd AC, it's really nice to run the one at the other end and duct the cold air to the end you're at. Nice & quiet. So I would recommend that option if it's up for debate.

We are loving ours.

Thank you for your input.
This will be my first travel trailer.
I live in Maine and I've retired so now I want to escape the Maine winters
and become a snowbird.
I had looked at a lot of different makes and models of travel trailers in the
past year and nothing compared in quality to Rockwood.
I've not been in the model I'd like (3029W), but I've seen the floor plans
and some videos from dealerships and believe this is the one for me.
I came upon this forum and joined to see what folks like and dislike about
Rockwood.
So far so good reading most of the posts.
You have a lovely trailer.
Hopefully sometime soon I will too lol.
Again, thanks for your input.
