Windjammer, I need opions, pros and cons

I plan to buy a new camper within 90 days. I have narrowed it down to the Windjammer 3006W and the Outback 301BQ. Both have a good floorplan for my family nedds. We have 3 kids, 7, 12, 16. both are bunks in Front with rear bedroom with bed slideout which makes for a good size bedroom for my wife and I. We are leaning towards the Windjammer. We know several people with different Outbacks, do not know anyone with a Windjammer. We currently own a Springdale 29 BHS, we feel like the design of both of these should pull better. We will have to drive about 2 hours to see one, local dealer does not have one. Also if anyone has bought from an online dealer, let me know your thoughts. I've had Quotes from a few, 6000 to 8000 cheaper but are 10 hr drive. so do I drive 2 hrs or 10 hrs. I don't mind driving to save that much. Thanks for any info and owner opions of Windjammers overall and 3006W in general.

Two seasons in a Windjammer 3008W. Love it. Pulls easy; sets up quick; plenty of room.

My family just took delivery of a Windjammer 3006wk. We ordered it on September 18 and it came in a week ago today. They changed the Floorplan slightly...the second entry door now leads to the bathroom...not the bedroom. We got the diamond package, which really sets it off. We have yet to camp in it, but are very much looking forward to it.

I did a ton of research online first...and then made the decision. As far as pricing, check with an online seller, and then bring the specs to a local dealer to see if they'll match or beat it. You might be pleasantly surprised.

What wall space was used for the outside door to the bath? What did they (remove, move) in the bath to have door space? Youroo!!

They moved the tub to the opposite wall, got rid of the extra counter space next to the sink, and moved the toilet in the corner where the tub used to be. The door is across from the toilet, on the same wall where the tub used to be. They also rounded the wall in the master bedroom to accommodate the toilet.

They also doubled the wardrobe in the master bedroom...and added glass sliding doors...which I'm not real crazy about.

We just completed our first year with our Windjammer 3008 and are very happy with it from a function and quality standpoint. The 3008 has a lot of room in the living area and a really excellent kitchen. It tows great, too. Ours has the atrium window package on the main slide. We actually looked at the 3006 first, as we initially were somewhat focused on trying to accomodate our kids when they might choose to join us (they are grown and married), and we really liked the idea of an outside kitchen. However, after over a year of deliberation, we decided on the 3008 as the floor plan which fit us (just me and the DW) best, then adapting to visitors when that occurs (which is the exception, not the rule for us). So far we have been very pleased with our choice of the Windjammer 3008, which is our first TT.

I have quite a few customers with the Windjammer and they all seem to really love it.

Get the V nose. You and your family will love it for many reasons. And you'll make lots of new friends wherever you camp because everyone will want to check it out!

Windjammer Fan

I'm right there with Vern. My wife and I also just bought a Windjammer 3008 this summer and have been loving it. Very satisfied with the quality and have no complaints so far.

We also were shopping the Outback and Windjammer a couple of years ago. We were coming out of a 2010 230RS Outback and were getting something a bit larger. Our choice was the 2012 3001W Windjammer. After two years, we still like the Windjammer as a family camper. Both have positives, but the Windjammer just seemed more "finished" and a very comfortable place to spend our couple of weeks of vacation each year.
