Winterizing a 2904SS

Does anyone know how much antifreeze it takes to winterize a Rockwood 2904SS? It has a hotwater heater by pass.

Most trailers in that size/segment take 3 to 4 quarts/litres of antifreeze for winterizing. My trailer takes just over 3 litres.

Mine took a touch over a gallon to fill the water system and I poured the rest in the P traps just to be sure there was enough to fill them.

I'd guess most take a gallon or two so buy two and save what is not needed.

My Canadian metric is screwed up. I meant gallons which are actually 4 litre containers up here. So 3 to 4 of those is what I meant.

Does it have an on-board filter? If so, the cartridge will have to be removed and the filter housing will accept a quart or so just to fill it up.
I put a plastic bottle (capped and empty) in the housing to take up the space.

Don't we have a rule here that there is to be no discussion on winterizing until after September 15th? LOL!

Where did the summer go?

I think ol' diesel901 has a new trailer and is trying to get ahead of the game. Not a bad idea to think ahead. I just bought my antifreeze. Last year stores ran out as that cold snap in January sent folks who do the blow out method scurrying for back up.

We're in our camper now, for our final camping trip then I'll be winterizing Sunday.
I bought a couple of 1/2 inch couplers, a few feet of 1/2 in tubing, and a tubing cutter and, while we're here, I'm going to remove the water filter and re-connect the lines.
My dealer, who is the smartest RV guy I've ever met, said to have 3 gallons of antifreeze for this year and then I'll only need around 2 when I'm used to what to do.

I did my Signature 8310SS this afternoon.
I used just a little over 3 gallons...including a cup in each P traps.

I tried that but the pressure in the water crushed the water bottle. So I had an empty Snapple (glass) bottle handy so put the cap on nice and tight and it seems to be okay. (I peeled off the paper from the bottle, of course.)

I was going to remove the entire filter but my wife said she'd like to keep so we'll keep it.
