Won't pump antifreeze from outside inlet

Need some help. Tried using the exterior inlet today to winterize my 8319SS. I bypassed the water heater, shut off valve to fresh water tank, but antifreeze would not pump from jug. Seems simply enough, not sure why it didn't work.

After several tries, I disconnected the fresh water inlet to pump, connected a hose with other end in the jug and it worked like a champ.

Any ideas? Thanks

Exterior inlet???

As in the city water fill? If that's what you were trying to use, it won't draw through there with the pump....it will actually push out to the back flow preventer that is built in the city water inlet.

Not really sure what you mean by exterior inlet....

Is the valve to the FW tank a 3 way valve? Maybe you line it up 180 deg. off? Normally the valve handle resembles a arrow and shoud point to the line you want to use.

There is an "antifreeze inlet" on the exterior. It is not the city water connection.

Seemed like it was a 90 degree valve, but I'll double check.

Wildcat, some of the trailers have an exterior port similar to the city water hookup but strictly for pumping antifreeze in.

Yep, that's what I got. But the pump won't pull in the antifreeze when I close the fresh water valve.

We had to make sure our jug of antifreeze was level with the inlet or it would suck the antifreeze in.

I had the same problem and found that the pipe from the outside inlet for the antifreeze was kinked.. which stopped the antifreeze going in no matter how hard I pumped.
