X-chocks for 2902ss

Looking to buy x-chocks to stop back and forth movement in my rockwood 2902ss. But I'm afraid they might not work because my tires are so close together. Has anyone had luck with these with a small clearance between tires.

Use them on a 2504s and they work great.

It's 2-1/2" between the tires on the 25KS/2503S; I'd say it could go down to 2" and they'd still fit.

They will fit in a space as small as 1 3/8" between the tires. That info is listed on the BAL site.

Fits my Windjammer 3029 just fine. They just crank down to close to the minimum but work fine.

I use them on mines, I bought them on Amazon they were a little cheaper than Camping World, they work great, along with my tires chocks.

Resist the temptation to over tighten them...they can damage tires

I'll disagree on this.

The pressure you can exert by tightening an x-chock is nowhere near the pressure which the static load of the camper itself puts on a tire.

I have tightened mine tight for years with no ill effects.

No problem with opinions...
My opinion is that the edges of the X chicks are pretty sharp if you dig them into the tires. All you need is enough pressure to stop the wheel from rolling and you don't have to crank them down to 1,000,000 pounds. Ymmv

I have used them since 2014 with my 8280ws. Have not had any experiences with them damaging tires. One suggestion is to tie a colored ribbon on the handle. To remind you they are there.

I've got them on my "leaving camp" checklist.

Disagree with you also, the edges are not sharp and even if they were, you can file them off or put a pc of hose on them, but the pressure is concentrated over 22.5 sq inches on each tire. (2.5" x 9") There is no way you can hurt the tire before breaking either the ratchet or the chock itself.

that is the very reason for the orange duct tape, .... I wrapped the handles in the brown pipe insulation, because I like the cushioned grips and then added the orange tape as a visual reminder that the chocks are there and need to be removed before moving, ....

If you put them on tight enough, you can't move the trailer. LOL
