Zamp solar charging

I bought a 2015 Windjammer 30' 50 amp and cannot seem to find out what I need to use the ZAMP charging system. I know I need a solar panel but how big?
I have heard the polarity on the ZAMP system is reversed? Is that right? Do I need to change it if I use another brand.

Why do they furnish this but no one knows anything about it? Can't get ZAMP to return emails. Can't get Forest River to return emails.

Is there a manual? I didn't get one and the dealer knows little to nothing about. All they want to do is sell you a solar panel but don't know what wattage.
Do I need a controller? I was told yes, and no by different people. Someone says it is built in, others says there is not one

I am so confused. I think I will bypass ZAMP system and connect direct to the battery a solar panel and controller, to be safe, but what wattage?

Thanks for any help!

Yep very confusing as they do not give you much info in the package that comes with the camper. From what I learned here is yes the system is reverse polarity compared to other systems. If you want to use other Solar systems you can change the polarity on you camper to use. There are a bunch of knowledgeable folks here that I'm sure will chime in to help you out. Later RJD

I haven't installed yet but I have been researching.

No controller is included. The zap connection is basically shortcut wiring to the batteries. The size solar panel is up to you, your needs and your pocketbook. How do you plan to use your system? What size inverter do you plan to install based on usage needs? Then you can figure out how many amp hours of battery you will have. That will then help you determine your solar panel needs (size, efficiency, number). Search this site for "Solar" and you will find tons of experience and advice. There are some real experts on this site.

I am planning on starting with the inverter and batteries which I can charge with a generator. Then I can add solar panels to reduce the generator needs to keep my batteries topped off.
