07 surveyour 291 slide out leak

hey i just pulled my camper out of storage. (Still 40 degrees here in wis)
and with all the rain we have had there is a small quater size under sink. the slide aluminium rail is wet and doesnt seem to be leaking around seals on slide out its all dry>?? (the slide is closed) wondering if anyone has suggestions to look for before i call the dealer? thanks

I'd like to help you out if I can but I'm not following your description of the problem. Can you attach some photos or provide more information?

Found a puddle under sink.
Seems to be coming down. Slide rail but not sure where coming from. The slide is closed

If the slide has been closed have you checked around the 3 sides of the slide flange to see if its compressing the seal? If the seal is compressed all around, it not likely that the leak is from that. Are you positive that the leak isn't from the sink drain or faucet piping?

Water may seep in from the top of the slideout. I had the same problem and traced it to the top outside seal - the factory silicone caulk (between the fiberglass & weatherstrip) pulled away fron the fiberglass and was causing water in seep down inside to the track and wood frame. It all depends on how the camper is leaning. Fixed it with a nice bead of new silicone caulk. Permanent fix on my TT (soon) will be 3" wide aluminum siding type trim strip (w/ stainless steel screws and silicone caulk) JUST ABOVE THE SLIDE OUT to prevent water from getting anywhere near the top outside seal. Although a slide topper will also prevent this type of seepage.

Where u get it from. I might just recaulk all around those seals before taking to dealet

Diagnose first - as the previous response mentioned, check to make sure its not a sink pipe / drain leak. Sometimes the joints and couplings loosen. If it only occurs during a rain then check the outside seal - that's how I diagnosed mine. Or pour some water over the top of the seal and check for leaks.

For caulk, I used the best premium brand outdoor 100% silicone from a hardware store (either squeeze tube or caulk gun type) and apply a thin bead between the fiberglass side and rubber seal. Also may be a good idea to treat the seal with a RV gasket / seal conditioner from a RV store - it will soften the rubber material again after years of exposure to the elements (usually hardens with age).
