2012 Surveyor SP240 leak???

Went by storage today to organise stuff in the pass thru storage compartment. WATER HAS LEAKED IN THRU BOTH SIDES DOORS! We've had some heavy rains but this should not happen. It's on;y 3 weeks old. We resiliconed the top seal and will be back after next rain and check. Wondering if it might be the seal around the door itself. Anybody else have this problem??

Sorry to hear about your water damage...our 2012 SP-240 has always been water tight...check your seal...no excuse for leakage, FR needs to make it right for you. You definitely want to read the thread I started re: the recent Surveyor safety recall notice...your problems may just be beginning...the recall identifies a problem with the way the propane line is routed on these units...the line can become crushed by the axle when the suspension comes under compression...a potentially serious safety issue...conduct a careful visual inspection of your gas line...immediately...do not use your trailer until you have done this!!...the line runs along the port side rail...inspect the area directly above the U-bolt on the axle; this is the problem area...unwrap the plastic covering from the copper propane line and make sure the tubing is not being crushed or pinched...Susan Thornberg is your contact at FR...good luck and please keep us all posted...

still leaking!!!!

Well went by today to check the pass thru storage compartment. Pulled everything out floor soaked, laminate flooring all faded by door openings from moisture. Mkaes me wonder how much moisture is under the flooring. I'm really upset!!!!! Had it 2 weeks and haven't even camped in it yet!!! Will have to find a dealer in the area tomorrow seeing as I bought it 180 miles from here. Guess I'll try Camping World, but they will take forever

Do yourself a favour and return it to the dealer where you bought it. They should have your back and make things right. Sounds like serious water issues

Good luck,

Any luck with this? Did you find the location of the leak?

Any luck with this? Did you find the location of the leak? We just bought a 2009 SV264, second owners and I am experiencing water ilfiltration at the side doors as well.

Smile found the leak

ome to find out it wasn't the doors leaking. It was the hole for the power cord inside the awning arm. The power cord can be seen
when you extend the awning and slide of the cover that attaches the awning to the trailer. The cord goes through the side of the trailer down through the compartment. It was not sealed around the wire and water was pouring in through there. We also resealed the top edge of the compartment doors. Hope this helps! We've had no problems since then.
