2019 Rlds265 Antenna

Hello my name is John and I just bought a 2019 rlds265. Has a antenna on it with two flexible rabbit ears. Is anyone familiar with this antenna ? Is it good ? Should I get a different one ? Just trying to get some information on it. Thx. John .

Have no idea what brand of RV a 265rlds is nor what kind of antenna you're asking about without brand and model number.
Your RV information isn't listed in your profile.

I suspect its a Surveyor 265RLDS, but I’ve never heard of a FR camper using an antenna with flexible rabbit ears. I agree that a picture will be helpful.

Is there a brand name on that antenna? It looks more like a wifi booster antenna but I’ve never seen either a TV antenna or a wifi booster antenna that looks like that.

I have the same antenna on my 2019 243RBS, I was told by Surveyor warranty dept. that this is a omni directional TV antenna and they're suppose to start using them on all models. Not sure of that though. I don't believe it works as well as other antennas.

It looks like an external wi-fi booster antenna. Onmidirectional tv antennas are very poor in fringe areas and usually have ranges less than 35 miles.

That’s about right on the range, I get about 30-40 mills reception on a good day

Well that's got to be a new low for FR, it must have been cheaper than the Winegard Omni antennas that also didn't work all that well. Nothing beats the Batwing with the Wingman installed on it.

Here's what I found out on the antenna, FR gets them from a supplier called Patrick/Quest Audio Group. Who in turn they tell me they get them from a company called Continus. They say it's an RCA antenna for RV's; model #CA1000B, an omni-directional. In my opinion they don't seem to work as good as the Bat Wing antennas of other brands. My dealer also didn't know anything about them.

Took me several phone calls to FR, and the other suppliers and part of an afternoon, like I said I don't believe they work as good.

✔ LONG RANGE ANTENNA – This amplified, high-performance antenna can pick up signal from 40 miles away. This Antenna is already custom built into several hundred-thousand RVs on the road right now, a great replacement to any damaged antenna.
✔ OMNI-DIRECTIONAL – No need to point and aim the antenna towards the strongest signal, it will pick up a strong signal from all sides. Very convenient! No need to crank up and point your antenna towards the nearest town - this antenna receives signal from every direction.
✔ 2 TV OUTPUTS + AM/FM RADIO – This Antenna and wall-plate has 2 TV outputs and is powered to boost signal to each TV. Featuring both UHF (Ultra High Frequency) and VHF (Very High Frequency) to provide the best HD signal based on your location and distance from TV broadcast Antennas.
✔ WEATHERPROOF DESIGN – This antenna is designed to withstand the elements. Use this antenna in any location from -25°F - 145°F.
✔ LOW PROFILE – A great feature of this antenna is its low profile, sitting just 7 inches tall, it gives little resistance and holds its place firmly, preventing damage. It is also UV resistant, meaning it will not fade or discolor over time.

I gave up on there antenna, everyone I have ever talked to has the same view marginal performance. I solved the problem, I purchased a 69.00 digital out door antenna from Best Buy and three 5' antenna section. I bung cord the first 5" section to the trailer ladder at. The top and the add the two other section. That gives me about 22" off the ground. I will get every available station with in 70 miles. Add another section and I can reach greater distance.
I have seen a rig like this on a telescopic flag pole that would give you more services.

I have the same antenna on mine, I had no clue what it was, no owners manual. Nothing other than two coax connectors inside, one for the antenna and one for park cable..I'm not even sure if it works, no tv yet.
I can't find it on the continu.us website, maybe it was discontinued.
Since Amazon sells it for $58, it must be a real deluxe, premium antenna.

Batwing time.
