2020 Surveyor 287BHSS Dual AC Configuration

We are looking at purchasing a 2020 Surveyor 287BHSS with Dual AC Configuration that we saw on rvtrader.com. It is obviously in another state so we can't easily go look at it, but without calling the dealer, was wondering if someone here may be more knowledgeable than the sales person, no pun intended

My question: This model has dual AC's. One in main living room, one in bedroom. Dual AC's requires 50 A service. When you are out camping with a 30 A service and can only fire up one AC or choose to run only one AC, does the bedroom still have ducts from the main AC in living room or do they scrap the ducts in the bedroom when the unit comes with a separate AC in the bedroom?

I'm sure someone out the has the answer

Thanks

Keith

This is a guess on my part if the rig normally comes with just one ac and the second is an option then I would say yes the ducting is thru out. I'm sure someone with better information will chime in soon.

On my 2017 the ducting is all the way through, mine was 2nd A/C prepped from the factory. In the heat of the summer when hooked to 50 AMP we leave both units on. In the fall I turn off the bedroom unit at night or the family room unit if we are watching TV and the unit that is left on cools the camper.

Coolharts, great information! So was yours prepped for the second AC and you added it later, or did it actually come with the second AC? Would the Lvng Room AC cool the entire camper down on a 90 degree day?

I added a second A/C to mine.

The original 15K Dometic in the Family Room would not cool the camper properly. It finally failed last year and I installed a Coleman since my unit is out of warranty. The Coleman is quieter, has more air flow and is colder. It can handle the unit by itself but the camper cools much faster after a hot tow when the front Dometic 13,500 is on.
We just got back from a weeklong Florida trip to the Keys, even when the temps were in the 90s and in the full sun the family was in blankets because the camper was cold. To me it was comfortable :-)

We are in NH, so I suspect the few days we have 90 degree heat a Summer, we can tolerate just having one. Most of the camping we do is in NH State Parks with no hookups and there is NO WAY they'd let you run a 10k generator, but it would be nice to have the second AC in the event we go seasonal somewhere or stay at a place with 50 Amp drops down South somewhere. I just want to make sure we can run on one AC and my super quiet 3500 W generator from Harbor Freight if required.
