226RBDS Television Mounting

Hello I was wondering if anyone on here has swapped out the fixed tv bracket for a locking telescoping unit? Is there a nice one available that will make the tv more visible from the dinette area? My plan is to move the fixed mount into the bedroom side mounting the unit on the support between the pocket doors.

Looks pretty straight forward but I would be interested in some lessons learned if some ones done this swap out before.

I did just that to my 226RBDS. I removed the TV in the living room and use it outside and replaced it with a 40 inch TV. I also installed a 19" inch TV in the bedroom with a shelf for the direct tv box. Let me know if you would like pictures.

Thanks Jwedell. The Video was great. It would be fantastic if you could post a picture of the bedroom mount with the shelf. I'm headed to get the locking pull out mount tomorrow .

This is the mount I made for the bedroom. There is a board at the ceiling and across the middle of the wall. I screwed a 1 X 12 to the ceiling and wall for support.

I have lots of other mods for our model if you're interested.
Good Luck

Thanks JWedell, that looks good! Nice looking TV setup. Do you know? It seems there is a steel support in the wall between the pocket doors. I think I just want to move the fixed mount one on the other wall into the bedroom. then bolt in the articulating unit where it was.

What are some of the other mods you've done? I was wanting to build an access door on the front of the dinette seats for access. Its a PITA moving those cushions to get under the dinette storage area.

Also this is a small mod I did to the back of the island
A drop down shelf was added to eat on and for entertaining.
We have 6 folding bar stools under the bed for additional seating

JWedell: we have the same trailer and love your sofa mod! Great idea! Did you ever look at buying a sofa sleeper instead of building one?

Yes we did. A sofa bed was too long ( it would hit the island) and a jack knife sofa had no storage. This was the only way I could have a sofa to watch TV comfortably, draws for storage, a dining table ( with nothing on the floor to trip on) when needed and a 75 X 50 inch bed for company. We looked at a lot of sofa beds and couldn't find any that met our needs. Also as a footnote I called the mfg and the slide out is rated for 1200 lbs.
