AC keeps tripping breaker

My husband is working out of town and living in our 2009 surveyor sport. Last week he used the AC just fine, now whenever he turns it on it trips the breaker. Any ideas as to why it's doing this? We are new to owning a travel trailer so I appreciate any help you have.

If it is a 30 amp supply, he might be overloading the circuit: when using AC make sure water heater is on propane only.

Also make sure things like Coffee Makers, toasters and fry pans are not used as they draw almost half the available power.

I replaced the anode rod in my hot water tank and it stopped my breaker tripping

Uh-Oh, that doesn't sound good. One possible reason it helped, is you may have accidently burned up the element and/or hi-limit t-stat during the process of changing the anode.

Did you make absolutely sure to turn off the electric heating element switch on the Suburban, before you drained the water heater? If not, then most likely you burned something out, thus the element is not working.....and not overloading a 30 amp breaker with the A/C on since the element would now not be drawing ANY amps.

Are you certain that the electric heating element side of the Suburban water heater is functional.....or are you only running it on propane?
