Uh-Oh, that doesn't sound good. One possible reason it helped, is you may have accidently burned up the element and/or hi-limit t-stat during the process of changing the anode.
Did you make absolutely sure to turn off the electric heating element switch on the Suburban, before you drained the water heater? If not, then most likely you burned something out, thus the element is not working.....and not overloading a 30 amp breaker with the A/C on since the element would now not be drawing ANY amps.

Are you certain that the electric heating element side of the Suburban water heater is functional.....or are you only running it on propane?
