An inverter changes 12V DC to 110 AC power, a 110 to 12V is a converter. my Surveyor has both, an inverter for the refrigerator and a converter to charge the batteries.

Ooops...I miss typed. Our 2016 240RBS has a Converter, not an inverter. The fridge will run on propane + battery or on 110 - propane when connected to shore power.

Posts #58, 59, 60: I think you mean CONVERTER. MOST TT's do not come with inverters.

Converters take 120VAC from shore power, and turn it into 12VDC for battery charging ans 12VDC accessories (lights, furnace fan/controls, fridge controls, water heater controls, etc).

Inverters take 12VDC from the battery and turn it into 120VAC for whatever you care to run that needs 120VAC and uses fewer watts than the size of your inverter.

OOPS - somebody beat me to this explanation!!

240RBS Kitchen Drain Problem and Fix

I posted this in the main forum but thought it might be valuable for any other 240RBS owners that might experience this issue.

Recently we had a problem with the kitchen sink drain underneath the kitchen slide. In a nutshell, the flexible drain hose would put pressure on the permanent mount when the slide was activated. So, using the slide caused the coupling to fail...repeatedly. :-(

Rather than taking it in to the dealer for a warranty fix, past experience and many lost days of camping time motivated me to fix the issue myself. So, I spent a couple hours lying on the ground, reaching through the small opening, and making a SOLID permanent repair.

Attached are a few sketches that show the original factory problem and how I fixed the issue (TOTAL LAMENESS to whoever originally installed the drain hose at the factory BTW!).

I'm hopeful these sketches might prove helpful to anyone who experiences a similar issue.

Cheers!

On mine, the screw-on ring broke. Bought a new one at Menards. YOu can see the hose and clamp are offset to the left some, so I moved the clamp to the right. Hope that helps.

Found this our first time out this year. It's about 4 feet of that black pipe from this connection to my sink. I don't know if freezing may have been a contributor, but I am going to make sure I add a bunch more pink anti-freeze to the sink next winter to make sure it gets to this fitting.

We had a blast on the North Rim! So HUGE! The temps were around 90 during the day in early June but WAY better than the 105 that awaited us at Lake Powell!

Godspeed on your journey!

rockfordroo - That heavy duty flexible drain tubing is pretty rigid. It is bendable, especially in warmer weather, but when it's cold, it gets pretty stiff. Our first issue was in early spring with colder temperatures. I think the flimsy base where the flexible tubing attached to the floor just couldn't handle the torque of the cold tubing when the slide was extended and retracted. It was attached to the floor with only ONE screw! I simply made a wider base and attached it securely to the floor so that there would be ZERO movement between the mount and the PVC coupler.

If your screw on ring breaks again, you might try mounting the tubing to a rigid mount on the floor just in front of the coupler to stop any pressure on the ring. It looked like your tubing relies on the ring as the sole anchor for the lower tube?

Thanks for sharing!

You may be right. If it breaks again, I'll try your suggestion.

Also note that the original ring and the "cone" shaped sealing ring were one piece. The Mendards version is 2 separate pieces. I thin that may help, too.

So, we are camping @ Brownlee reservoir in western Idaho and just had our 1st problem with our slide. The forward slide was hung up on something and wouldn't slide out. After futzing with it for a bit I ended up taking off the lower cabinet panel and unplugging the rear motor from the controller so only the forward slide motor could push. With my wife at the slide switch, I lifted/pushed while she ran the slide button and were able to free it up. I then plugged the rear motor back in and extended it all the way. We then partially retracted and extended the slide a few times and the controller seemed to resynchronize. It's working fine now but had us a little nervous for a bit.

The only thing I can think of that might have caused the problem is that we slid the slide partially out on a slight slope to access the bedroom on the side behind the slide. It must have caused it to retract crooked and become wedged? Anyway, if anyone runs into a similar problem, I hope this might help.

Satdog01- on our 2016, the antenna is not adjustable, it's omnidirectional so no adjustment necassary. The little button on the coax cable plate amplifies the antenna signal. Turn the button off when connecting to cable. :-)

Renderspud, thanks for reply. Trying to help some band new owners who got a very bad psi! FR got back to me, the fixed antenna has been on the model for three years now. They are going to a movable one one on the 2017 according to FR person that got back to me said.

Schwintek Slide Out Proper Use

If you ever have problems with one side of your slide not extending correctly, this might help.

We were continually have issues with one side of the slide out 'sticking'. Turns out it wasn't sticking, the slides were continually getting out of sync. We were given incorrect information on slide operation in our initial walk-through.

These in-wall slide motors are designed to automatically shut off when the stop locations have been maximized or zeroed out. So, if you don't press and hold the slide switch until the motors deactivate, you aren't letting the system synchronize the 'start' and 'stop' points for the motors.

We would often partially extend the slide to access the left side of the bedroom and then retract it without letting the motors zero out. This just kept throwing the motors out of sync and I would end up later that day disconnecting one of the motors to get the 'stuck' side to extend.

After much irritation, I scheduled a shop visit with the dealer. While waiting to take the trailer in and dreading the thought of it sitting on a lot instead of with me somewhere in the mountains, I decided to do some research. It took all of 5 minutes to find some Youtube videos that showed me the correct way to fully extend and retract the slide. We've had zero problems since.

Needless to say I promptly cancelled my shop appointment. Here are some links:

Don't know if you have these already, but here they are. There's some duplication in them.

(I'm assuming you have a Schwintek).
