Anyone replace 15" wheels with 16" wheels on Surveyor 292/293 RKS 5th wheel?

Last year on our first significant trip with the unit we had a total of two blowouts at different times and one flat tire when the non-blowout tire wouldn't support the weight of the unit when the other tire on the same side blew. The tires were the standard 15" tires that came with the unit (too lazy to look up the specifics). I checked wear and pressure at every stop with a very accurate tire gauge. Other than delivery miles, the tires did not have 1000 miles on them. The tires were inflated to 64.5lbs of pressure (65lbs max). There was over $2000 in damage caused by the blowouts. We replaced all tires, including the spare, with new 15" Goodyears. We are now in a position to start traveling again and would like to take a long trip out West but I do not trust the new tires. I would like to know if anyone switched out the 15" tires for 16" tires and if so were skirt or other modifications necessary?
