awning dilemma

Thinking of upgrading to a power awning from my manual for easier retraction in inclement weather. Wondered if anyone else had done this and is it worth the cost? Thanks.

We have the power awning and like it just fine. Don't know if you can justify the cost though. I've often wondered why you couldn't just install the motor and electrify the manual. You would of course still have to loosen the knobs/supports to allow it to retract electrically. But you can buy the motors on eBay very reasonably priced.

They also mount different so you'll have holes that will need to be filled.
