Unhappy Bathroom Wall Bulging!

Noticed that our 2008 Surveyor bathroom wall next to the dinette is bulging!
Pushed in on the wall and a nail popped out (rusty) next to the outside wall.

Any suggestions as to why?

Any suggestions on how to fix?

Is the bathroom framed in wood?

Sounds like a leak.
Start on the roof above the area in question and check very carefully
for any cracks/gaps in the caulking at the edges of the roof membrane.

rmgar,

All exterior walls are bonded to the aluminum framing. All interior walls are nailed(stapled) to wood studs.

If in warranty, notify the dealer.
If not, try to find the source of the leak(roof edge, vents, sky light, etc..). Repair leak with proper caulking and replace nails(staples).
I'd try to pull the wall back a bit to inspect the amount of damage so far.

I'm thinking that a lot of those walls are fully laminated. Urethane adhesive, similar to Great Stuff Foam Insulation is used in the lamination process. Once de-laminated, it is very difficult to re-laminate. It can be done, though.
Fix the leak before going too far.

Sounds like warranty work to me. The trailer has a two year exterior warranty on it ( in Canada anyway ), depending when you bought it you could still have factory warranty.

Got a picture? It is worth a thousand words!

Talking Fixed!!

Well, I took the trailer into the dealer and they inspected the wall.

They said that there is NO water damage and that the wall was cut too long at the factory.

So, they disassembled the dinette seat and trimmed the bottom of the wall a quarter inch. NO CHARGE!!!

They said it was out of warranty but decided they weren't going to charge me.

Gotta love United RV in Las Cruces, NM

WOW! Now there is a rare dealer. Glad to hear it turned out to be an easy fix and not what could have been "the worse case senario".
