Battery Dead. 2016 24rbs surveyor

Went to check on my TT in storage and found out the battery is dead. Hooked it up to a charger all night and the battery is fine. Is there a kill switch on trailer where you can shut the power off for the battery.

Not all trailers have a battery disconnect... my Surveyor doesn't. Even if it did, the things draining your battery most likely would not be disconnected. Your CO2 and propane detectors are connected all the time and will drain your battery in a couple of days. I always remove my battery and bring it home with me. With it here, I can keep it in top shape, keeping it charged and water checked at least once a month. If you disconnect the negative side, it's usually just one wire, and the easiest to do. When you reconnect it, it will spark a bit because of the current draw of the detectors. Have fun...

Most trailers don't come with a factory battery disconnect switch, it's an aftermarket install.
All modern RVs come with a host of parasitic power drains so such a switch is important if not hooked to shore power.

I have a 240RBS, my TV has a blue light that stays on under battery power, along with other items. Every time I store mine I disconnect one battery line.

I pulled the fuse to the radio when parked, but there were still enough parasitic draws to overcome the small solar trickle charger, so I bring the battery home with me between trips now.

I'd go to the trouble of installing a kill switch, but the way my battery is mounted to the frame, a batter lock won't fit, so this also assures that no one will attempt to steal it.

Just can't forget it at home when we go for a trip!

I have a 2012 Surveyor 264. It does not have a battery disconnect switch. I disconnect the negative side of the battery since it only has one cable. As to what some call phantom loads you will find the radio and LP Gas detector are the ones I found on my trailer. The radio has a fuse a but the LP Gas Leak detector does not and is hardwired with no connector. Since I am afraid I would forget to reconnect the leak detector I decided not to install a connector. I just disconnect the battery. That way I don't forget to connect an important safety item.

One of the best bang for the buck mods you can do is the battery disconnect switch. Mine was roughly $16 and I went for the no-muss install right on the battery box.

When you arrive home if you're keeping the fridge on then plug in to shore power. If not then turn the battery disconnect switch and forget about it until your next trip.

Installing some styles of battery disconnect requires more effort than others. One style that takes up very little space and would be very easy to install, like this one from Amazon, is only $8.45. Walmart has a similar style switch.
