Bike holder for rear folding rack?

Our Surveyor Sport has the folding rear rack on the back bumper, and a upright that can be fit into the socket. Has anyone found a good bike rack that fits this setup?

I have a 2014 275 surveyor sport with the bike and also lookin for a rack to attach I dont like the fold down square pipe as it is loose in the holder, and feel the bikes will rattle around to much to use like this . Please do let me know if you find one to attach to this that works thanks Jim

I recently purchased a set of bike racks for out cargo carrier from Camping World. http://m.campingworld.com/shopping/i...ike-rack/58854. I haven't installed yet but reviews were good. It appears they will have to removed to stow the carrier.

I saw the one from camping world, and I am not sure that having to remove it to fold up the rack is what I am looking for. Seems like there should be a better option. I may have to just make something.

How about keeping it simple? Stabilize the bike tires and use a couple of nylon ratchet straps from the bike frame down to the trailer's bike rack.

That looks like it might work. It looks like you would still be able to fold the rack.

bike rack

I also use the same rack as Frozen does. Stromberg, bought through Camping World as a pair of them. But I put mine inside the wheels as recommended by the manufacturer. You can't fold the rack up, but I don't do that anyway. Use good ratchet straps and bikes will not budge.

Here is my version. A metal channel holds the wheels straight. The uprights that keep the bikes from tipping over can be bolted flat when not in use so that the rack can be folded up. As Captn.Ken said use good ratchet straps. Another thing I found was that the large pins holding the rack flat have play in their holes allowing the rack to bounce. I made two u-bolts that hold the rack tight to the bumper. Also an xx-large BBQ cover from amazon keeps them clean and dry. Safe travels.

Wow. Usually RV bumpers are not strong enough to handle bike racks like that. Surveyor's must have stronger bumpers than others.

I am glad you were able to work something out.

Vin.

vinmaker - fold down rack came with trailer. Rated at 300 lbs. Bikes are aluminium and weigh about 35 lbs. each. Safe travels
