Here's what's happening in a nutshell. I keep black tank valve closed until leaving. Indicator is stuck on 3/4 full since new. I open the valve until nothing flows. I use my tank flush until I can see water through my toilet opening. Dump again. When get home I open the valve with a bucket under the drain and always get a bucket full of solids. It's like the drain is higher than the bottom of the tank. I will try adding some chemicals to see is it helps. I haven't been using any chemicals due to short weekend trips. Lots of campers told me they don't bother with chemicals so I quit using them.

I always start with 3-4 gallons of water in the black tank at the beginning of the trip. It is supposed to help loosen up anything that may be stuck in the tank from previous trip.
Maybe you need to modify your diet.

After draining the black water tank I fill a bucket up with fresh water. Dump that in the tank and open the valve again. I always use some type of treatment for the black water tank.

I would think with all the beer I drink while camping there would be enough liquids in there to keep things flowing! Diet? what color is it now?

I recommend not relying on the indicators, just as a guide. The indicators in my 3200BHT have read 3/4 full since we brought it home new from the dealer. When it drains at first, it'll read empty and then one flush read 3/4 full and then full. I leave my valves closed and drain it every other day while staying at the CG. I then drain it and use the black tank flush as well. I run that a few times until the water comes out "clear" and then eventually stops.

Why do you think it's not emptying 100% outside of the indicators?

Try this black tank treatment, it is the best that I have used. No odor and breaks down the solids.

X2 on Happy Campers. Used that in the last three TT and no issues.

Cutout. Maybe the cutout from when they cut the hole in your tank is still in the tank. Many have had this happen. Search the forum for this.
